A junior purple belt is crowned during our morning sessions at The MAC

We had another action packed Monday at The MAC at Haworth, with our usual mix of morning and evening sessions keeping our members flooding through the door.

The morning started with our stand-up class, giving those that attended the chance to work on their punches, kicks, knees and elbows on the focus pads. We ended the session with a little stand-up sparring.

The evening began with our Kids MMA class, with the group working on their basic striking techniques, as well as their mount controls in the grappling sections. With the grading coming up in a couple of weeks, the group is looking in good shape.

Ending the night was our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu session, with the group looking at double leg takedowns from standing and a couple of Americana arm-locks from the mount position. The night ended with a little roll.

A special shout out to Ewa Paczkowska who has trained under head coach, Michael Faulkner over the past two years. She’s come on leaps and bounds, not only able to defend herself on the feet, but is extremely competent on the ground with her grappling. She was yesterday awarded her Junior Purple Belt, passing a gruelling two hour exam in the process. Congratulations Ewa!

A big well done to everyone who attended the session over the course of the day including Adam, Ewa, Roxanne, Mark, Andrea, Tony, Heidi, Ryan and Jay.

A big shout out to our sponsors, The Fleece Inn as well.

See you next time on the mat…
