Knee on stomach escapes visited this morning during the BJJ session at The MAC

We had our busy Sunday morning schedule in full swing today, with an hours pads, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (no-gi) for adults and Kids MMA all on the menu.

First up was our pads hour, a chance for members and non-members to mingle whilst getting a good sweat on throwing punches, kicks, knees and elbows from various positions.

Next up was the turn of our grapplers, looking at three nice ways to escape the horror that is knee on stomach. We started with a nice shrimp to high-low guard option before looking at an effective sweep before finishing with a surprise roll away.

Lastly we had our massively popular Kids MMA class, with the group looking at basic strikes, as well as the ones they’ll need to master for their next gradings. Then we started putting the grappling together that we’ve been learning, combining guard passing, mount controls and an effective back take to make them very difficult to deal with.

A big well done to everyone who attended the centre today including Adam, Ewa, Roxie, Rob, Mark, Shehroze Charlie and Chris.

See you next time on the mats…
