Stand-up sparring and submission counters the focus of Wednesday morning classes at The MAC

We had a busy and action-packed Wednesday morning at The MAC at Haworth today with our usual hour of striking and hour of grappling taking up the majority of the time.

We kicked it off with our stand-up class, with the group blasting through four sets of ten on the Bulgarian bag before moving on to six grueling rounds of padwork. The hour finished with twenty minutes of stand-up sparring, giving the members a chance to put into practice what they’d learned.

The grappling hour was taken up by yet more submission escapes, this time focusing on two arm-triangle escapes and two escapes from the D’Arce choke. The hour finished with a number of five minute sparring rounds.

A big well done to everyone who attended the centre today including Adam, Ewa, Roxanne, Alex and Mark.

A big shout out to our sponsors, The Fleece Inn as well.

See you next time on the mat…
