The MAC at Haworth has a busy, busy Sunday morning as class number rise in 2017

The MAC at Haworth experienced higher than normal class numbers for our first Sunday of 2017, with students flocking through the door for pads, BJJ and Kids MMA.

First up was our pads session, a chance for members and non-members to mix whilst holding pads for each other and burning off those hours of stress from the working week. Punches, kicks and the occasional knee was thrown over the course of 60-minutes.

Next we had our BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) hour, with the group looking at Z-half guard and how to correctly use the knee shield to not only control and manage the distance against our opponent, but use it to take their back and pull off a cheeky kimura to boot. The session ended with a few rounds of rolling (BJJ sparring)

Last but by no means least was the turn of the kids, as we rattled off our regular warm-up, focus games and basic striking drills before focusing on pad work, takedowns and rolling.

A big well done to those members that turned up today which included Roxanne, Adam, Mark, Georgina, Chris and Robert.

See you next time on the mats…
