Suitable for children between the ages of 4-12, our Kid’s MMA class is designed to not only give your little one a boost in self confidence but provide them with a valuable set of skills they will be able to use for the rest of their life. Classes will consist of practical, simple and effective techniques from striking arts such as boxing, kickboxing and muay thai, as well as grappling and self defence techniques from the Jiu-Jitsu world.
Our mixed stand-up class is “mixed” on many fronts. Not only do we encourage a mix of sexes and ages , as well as a mixture of boxing, kickboxing and muay thai, but the style of stand-up fighting you will learn will be very practical when it comes to mixed martial arts where you have to be aware of people trying to take you to the ground. Taking into account the three aforementioned arts and sprinkling it with our own experiences, we look at the most practical punches, kicks, knees, stances and movements to give you the best chance of dealing with an opponent, not only in competition but in real life situations as well.
BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) Systems/Fundamentals
BJJ is a real passion of our leader, not only due to it’s ease should you dedicate yourself to learning the art properly, but it’s ability to control another human being completely no matter what the size difference. In our classes we will teach you the most important principles you could ever learn (how not to lose a fight and how to escape bad positions), as well as effective sweeps, guard passes and submissions from various positions.
Mixed martial arts is as close to a real fight as you’re going to get, taking elements of striking and grappling and blending them together into a sport that has grown tremendously over the past ten years both at a amateur and professional level. The MAC classes will consist padwork, fundamental grappling techniques and, when ready, carefully selected sparring. A very full on course but we’re confident that if you dedicate yourself, you will become a very well rounded individual.
Our newest addition in the range of classes offered at The MAC, Zumba is a fantastic way to dance, dance, dance your way to fitness. Set to high energy music, this class gives you the chance to tailor each session to your own needs by either joining in with every move or to simplify things. Learn fun routines over the weeks and grow in confidence in an encouraging, relaxed and fun environment. Classes suited to both beginners and advance.
